Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
12 slices thin-cut bacon, halved crosswise
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
Pat the shrimp completely dry using paper towels. This step helps the bacon crisp up.
In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder to create the glaze.
Take one piece of shrimp and wrap it tightly with half a slice of bacon. Secure the bacon with a toothpick if needed, though thin bacon often stays put.
Place the wrapped shrimp on the prepared wire rack.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Brush the tops of the shrimp generously with half of the prepared glaze.
Return the shrimp to the oven and bake for another 5 to 8 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the shrimp is cooked through.
Remove from the oven and immediately brush with the remaining glaze. Let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use thin-cut bacon for the crispiest results when making this quick party food idea.
If you prefer a broiler method for faster crisping, place the rack close to the heat source and watch carefully, turning once.
You can prepare the shrimp and bacon wrapping a few hours ahead of time. Keep them refrigerated on the baking sheet until ready to bake.
