Make this simple, rich chocolate fondue using only two ingredients. It creates a velvety dip perfect for parties, date nights, or any time you need a decadent, easy dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces good quality dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped dark chocolate into a medium, heat-safe bowl.
  2. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer around the edges. Do not let it boil rapidly.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit undisturbed for five minutes to allow the chocolate to melt.
  4. Whisk the mixture slowly, starting from the center and moving outward, until the chocolate and cream are completely combined and the fondue is smooth and glossy. This creates a ganache-style dip.
  5. Transfer the chocolate fondue to a small fondue pot or a small slow cooker set to the ‘warm’ setting to keep it melted for serving.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers.

Notes

  • For serving without a fondue pot, keep the fondue in the slow cooker on low or transfer it to a small serving bowl and reheat gently on the stovetop if it thickens too much.
  • Use semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate for the best flavor balance against the cream.
  • If the fondue seems too thick, stir in one teaspoon of milk or cream at a time until you reach your desired dipping consistency.
