Make this simple dessert that combines the sweet, gooey texture of cinnamon rolls with a warm, spiced apple pie filling. This recipe uses store-bought dough for a quick, indulgent bake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 count) refrigerated cinnamon rolls, with icing
  • 2 cans (21 ounces each) apple pie filling
  • 1 package premade pie crust (2 count box)
  • Caramel sauce, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease one 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Unroll the premade pie crust and press it into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie plate.
  3. Open the can of cinnamon rolls. Cut each roll in half horizontally.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, flatten the cut cinnamon roll pieces slightly.
  5. Arrange the flattened cinnamon roll pieces over the bottom pie crust to cover the base.
  6. Pour both cans of apple pie filling evenly over the cinnamon roll layer.
  7. Place the remaining cinnamon roll pieces on top of the apple filling to create a top layer or topping.
  8. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  10. Drizzle the reserved cinnamon roll icing over the warm pie. Add extra caramel sauce if desired.
  11. Serve warm for a gooey dessert experience.

Notes

  • If you want a crispier crust, you can use the premade pie crust for the bottom only, and use the cinnamon rolls only for the topping.
  • This recipe works well as a sweet breakfast bake or a decadent weekend treat.
  • For an extra rich flavor, use a store-bought caramel apple pie filling.
