Make this creamy, cheesy baked garlic bread dip for your next gathering. It uses roasted garlic and Italian seasoning for bold flavor, pairing perfectly with crusty bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head garlic
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Crusty bread or crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch oven-safe skillet or baking dish.
  2. Roast the garlic: Slice about 1/4 inch off the top of the head of garlic to expose the cloves. Drizzle with a small amount of olive oil, wrap loosely in foil, and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the cloves are soft and golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  3. Squeeze the roasted garlic pulp out of the skins into a medium bowl. Mash the garlic with a fork until mostly smooth.
  4. Add the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, sour cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the mashed garlic.
  5. Mix all ingredients together until they are fully combined and creamy.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden brown.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving hot with slices of crusty bread or crackers.

Notes

  • For a quicker preparation, you can use jarred minced garlic instead of roasting a whole head, using about 1 tablespoon of minced garlic.
  • If you want a thinner dip, add one tablespoon of milk or heavy cream to the mixture before baking.
  • This hot appetizer is best served immediately while it is still bubbly from the oven.
