This baked ravioli casserole delivers the comfort of lasagna using frozen ravioli for a quick, easy weeknight dinner. It requires minimal prep and uses only five main ingredients for a satisfying, cheesy result.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (24 ounce) package frozen cheese ravioli
  • 4 cups marinara sauce (or meat sauce)
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the sauce.
  4. Spoon half of the remaining marinara sauce over the ravioli layer. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  5. Place the remaining frozen ravioli on top of the cheese layer. Spread the rest of the marinara sauce over this layer.
  6. Mix the remaining 2 cups of mozzarella cheese with the Italian seasoning. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top layer of sauce.
  7. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly browned.
  10. Let the baked ravioli rest for 5 minutes before you cut and serve it.

Notes

  • You can use meat-filled ravioli or any flavor you prefer for this simple Italian casserole.
  • This recipe works well as a make ahead baked pasta; cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking, adding 10 minutes to the covered baking time.
  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the marinara sauce with your favorite ground beef baked ravioli sauce.
