Ingredients
Scale
1 cup mayonnaise
4 cloves fresh garlic, minced very fine
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Place the minced garlic and salt into a small bowl. Use the back of a spoon to mash the garlic and salt together until it forms a paste. This releases the maximum garlic flavor.
Add the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and olive oil to the bowl with the garlic paste.
Whisk all ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth and creamy.
Stir in the black pepper.
Taste the sauce and adjust salt or lemon juice as needed for your preference.
Cover the sauce and chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
For a thinner sauce, add water one teaspoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
This sauce works well as a flavorful dressing for salads or a dip for roasted vegetables.
You can substitute Greek yogurt for half the mayonnaise for a lighter version.
