Make this simple, crunchy graham cracker toffee with a buttery toffee layer and rich chocolate topping. This quick recipe is perfect for parties or holiday candy boxes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 cups graham cracker squares, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange the graham cracker pieces in a single layer to cover the entire surface of the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the sugar and salt. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  4. Let the toffee mixture boil for 3 to 5 minutes without stirring until it reaches a rich caramel color.
  5. Immediately pour the hot toffee evenly over the graham crackers, spreading it slightly to cover all the pieces.
  6. Bake the sheet for 8 to 10 minutes until the toffee is bubbly and set.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee layer.
  8. Let the chocolate sit for 2 to 3 minutes to melt, then spread it evenly with a spatula.
  9. If you are using them, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the melted chocolate.
  10. Allow the toffee to cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
  11. Break the finished graham cracker toffee into pieces and serve your crunchy homemade sweets.

Notes

  • For the best flavor in your buttery graham cracker bark, use high-quality butter.
  • Store leftover toffee in an airtight container to maintain its crisp texture.
  • You can substitute pecans with almonds or use peanut butter chips for a variation.
