Make this simple, light, and refreshing watermelon smoothie. It uses only five ingredients and blends in minutes, making it the perfect hydrating drink for warm weather or a quick breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh, cubed watermelon (frozen preferred for texture)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup cold water or coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your watermelon by cubing it. For the best cold and creamy fruit smoothies texture, freeze the watermelon cubes for at least two hours before blending.
  2. Place the frozen watermelon cubes, frozen strawberries, cold water or coconut water, and lime juice into your blender.
  3. Add the optional sweetener if you prefer a sweeter drink.
  4. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more water.
  5. Pour the watermelon smoothie immediately into glasses. Serve this thirst-quenching smoothie right away.

Notes

  • For an extra creamy fruit smoothie, add 1/4 cup of plain Greek yogurt or a small piece of frozen banana.
  • To make this a nutrient dense smoothie, add one tablespoon of chia seeds or flax seeds before blending.
  • If you do not have frozen fruit, add 1 cup of ice cubes to ensure your drink is cold and refreshing.
