Make this creamy White Christmas Margarita for your holiday gatherings. This festive cocktail uses coconut milk for a smooth texture and is quick to prepare, making it a perfect signature drink for winter entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces silver tequila
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • 2 ounces unsweetened coconut milk (full fat recommended)
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce cream of coconut (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • Ice cubes
  • For Garnish: Lime wedges, shredded coconut for rimming

Instructions

  1. Prepare your glasses: Run a lime wedge around the rim of each margarita glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of shredded coconut to create a frosted edge.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, add the tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, coconut milk, simple syrup, and cream of coconut (if using).
  3. Add ice: Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
  4. Shake well: Close the shaker and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds. This chills and slightly froths the mixture.
  5. Strain and serve: Fill your prepared glasses with fresh ice. Strain the margarita mixture into the glasses.
  6. Garnish: Add a lime wedge to the rim of each glass. Serve this delicious margarita immediately.

Notes

  • For a pitcher recipe serving 8, multiply all liquid ingredients by 4. Mix everything except ice in a large container, chill for at least one hour, and then shake individual servings with ice or pour over ice in serving glasses.
  • If you want a slightly tart drink, skip the optional cream of coconut.
  • For a frosty texture, use frozen lime juice cubes or blend the mixture with ice for a slush version.
