Make rich, creamy white hot chocolate at home with only three simple ingredients. This recipe delivers a comforting, gourmet beverage better than coffee shop versions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups Whole Milk
  • 6 ounces Quality White Chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Pour the whole milk into a medium saucepan. Heat the milk over medium heat until it just begins to steam around the edges. Do not let it boil.
  2. Reduce the heat to low. Add the chopped white chocolate to the warm milk. Let it sit for one minute to soften the chocolate.
  3. Whisk the mixture constantly until the white chocolate is completely melted and the drink is smooth and uniform.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the white hot chocolate into mugs. Top with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use high-quality white chocolate (at least 30% cocoa butter) for the best creamy texture and flavor.
  • For an extra rich drink, substitute half of the milk with heavy cream.
  • This recipe is kid friendly and makes a delicious, simple winter beverage.
